Why We're Here
There are people in need everywhere around us. Some need food, some need clothing, and others just need a helping hand. Founded in 2013 by Kyle Lowry, of the Toronto Raptors, and his wife, Ayahna Cornish-Lowry, the Lowry Love Foundation is a 501c3 organization committed to improving the lives of the underprivileged and disadvantaged of Philadelphia and Toronto in order to help them attain a better quality of life.
The Lowry Love Foundation and its founders view humanity as a precious gift. The age-old maxim states: “all men are created equally.” The reality, however, is that not everyone inherits a sufficient foundation upon which they can build their lives and realize their potential. We hope to change that. As an organization, we seek to instill confidence, promote a sense of community, and inspire a sense of agency in those we work with by providing basic necessities, like food and clothing, to individuals who might otherwise go without. Not only do we believe that all people deserve access to the basic necessities of life and should never be without nourishment or appropriate clothing, we also believe that is imperative that our city’s youth, as well as those of our adoptive city, Toronto, be provided with supportive programs that will uplift them in times of need and instill within them values that will be critical in their development as citizens. Through our foundation, we hope to make these beliefs a reality.
